What a pro does

The order of the check matters, and it starts nowhere near the fancy parts. Power first: the breaker, the disconnect switch beside the unit, the door switch on the blower panel that a service call last spring may have left proud of its seat. Then fuel. A propane tank low enough to lose vapor pressure in deep cold will shut a system down as thoroughly as a dead board, and it's the first thing worth ruling out at a place that's been on setback with nobody watching the gauge. After that a tech walks the ignition sequence and reads whatever the control board is flashing, because most no-heat calls end at a safety device that did its job rather than a component that failed. Throwing parts at it before the sequence is understood is how a small bill turns into a big one.
